Clariance is very pleased to announce the first surgery worldwide using its Aggeris®-C cervical plate on September 8th. The 3-level surgery was performed by Dr. Eric Roger in Buffalo, NY USA.
Dr. Roger shared his thoughts on this milestone surgery: “Indeed, I was excited to try out the new Aggeris®-C plate. I felt it had a very clean, sleek shape. It’s low profile (2 mm), still maintained overall rigidity. The windows and narrow waist allowed a good visualization of the underlying graft. We used the 56 mm plate with 14 mm screws. The screws offerings go from 12-18 mm, in 2 mm increments. The instrumentation was very user-friendly and also innovative in the rigidity of the screwdriver fixation, essentially removing any screw toggling. The plate holder, consisting of a clamp down bayonet (baïonnette) forceps, allowed easy manipulation of the plate and alignment of screw holes. The shape of the screw holes allowed adequate angulation rostro-caudally, as well as allowing proper triangulation. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this plate and will most certainly be using it in the future.”
